This weekend has been quite relaxing, for the most part anyways. I worked out at Camp O this weekend at the Horse Barn, which isn't usally very hard. The group in this weekend didn't have scheduled times to be at activities so it was a free for all to come and go as they pleased. That made things pretty easy for all of us workers, but at the same time it seemed like the day just took twice as long as usual. After that, we got to go eat Mexican food at Romo's. It's a local restaurant that had closed down and Richard and I got really sad about that. It was definitely my preference of Mexican places to eat in town, and they opened like 2 weeks ago. So we went with a few friends to enjoy a delicious meal and some great conversations.
Today, Richard headed out to a camp function and I went to my bosses house for a bible study. It was really good and I knew all except one of the families. I got to also see two darling little girls, one of which is in my daycare class, and it was just fun to see them and get lots of hugs. The rest of the day, I have really just relaxed and watched some DVR'd TV shows. I did get to enjoy a delicious desert that my bosses husband made, and boy was it delicious. It was the Paula Deen strawberry shortcake, and in my opinion, anything that is Paula Deen is always worth eating, even if it is not the healthiest choice. Now, because I have had a sweet tooth, and I'm going to try and only eat a small part, and will probably take it to work tomorrow for the girls, I am making a Butterfinger cake that I found on Pinterest, and boy does it smell delicious right now!
I did complete day 6 of the 30 day shred today, and I am really proud of myself for sticking with the workouts for 6 straight days. Yesterday was a little tough because I had to get up about an hour earlier than normal in order to get the workout in before I went to work, but it was worth it. I have also decided that working out in the mornings is optimal for me because I feel a lot better about my day and I don't have an opportunity to talk myself out of trying to get the workout in. I have been also trying to think about what I want to do once these 30 days are over, and I am seriously thinking about starting to train for a 5k. I think that it will be something fun to do, and the weather will start being consistently nice enough to go out for a run. The other thing I am thinking about doing is getting a cheapish bike and going for bike rides, because I think that is something Richard and I could do together, and it would promote weight lose for both of us. It was also give me another option to get to work during the summer as it's technically walking distance from our house to camp.
I am starting to get really excited about my parents coming to visit in 2 weeks. My twin sister is flying down here and I will get to spend some great time with her, my parents, my niece (which asked me today for a Yo Gabba Gabba cake when she gets here, I think my sister and I have her settled on making a tie dye cake when she arrives), and hopefully my brother if he's able to make it down with my parents. It'll be great because I haven't seen them since New Years, even if I'll see them in another month, with taking a little 3 day weekend for Easter. That's really all I have for now, so I will update again soon.
In Him,
Jessica Bombach
