Relaxing Weekend

This weekend has been quite relaxing, for the most part anyways.  I worked out at Camp O this weekend at the Horse Barn, which isn't usally very hard.  The group in this weekend didn't have scheduled times to be at activities so it was a free for all to come and go as they pleased.  That made things pretty easy for all of us workers, but at the same time it seemed like the day just took twice as long as usual.  After that, we got to go eat Mexican food at Romo's.  It's a local restaurant that had closed down and Richard and I got really sad about that.  It was definitely my preference of Mexican places to eat in town, and they opened like 2 weeks ago.  So we went with a few friends to enjoy a delicious meal and some great conversations.

Today, Richard headed out to a camp function and I went to my bosses house for a bible study. It was really good and I knew all except one of the families.  I got to also see two darling little girls, one of which is in my daycare class, and it was just fun to see them and get lots of hugs.  The rest of the day, I have really just relaxed and watched some DVR'd TV shows.  I did get to enjoy a delicious desert that my bosses husband made, and boy was it delicious.  It was the Paula Deen strawberry shortcake, and in my opinion, anything that is Paula Deen is always worth eating, even if it is not the healthiest choice.  Now, because I have had a sweet tooth, and I'm going to try and only eat a small part, and will probably take it to work tomorrow for the girls, I am making a Butterfinger cake that I found on Pinterest, and boy does it smell delicious right now!

I did complete day 6 of the 30 day shred today, and I am really proud of myself for sticking with the workouts for 6 straight days.  Yesterday was a little tough because I had to get up about an hour earlier than normal in order to get the workout in before I went to work, but it was worth it.  I have also decided that working out in the mornings is optimal for me because I feel a lot better about my day and I don't have an opportunity to talk myself out of trying to get the workout in.  I have been also trying to think about what I want to do once these 30 days are over, and I am seriously thinking about starting to train for a 5k.  I think that it will be something fun to do, and the weather will start being consistently nice enough to go out for a run.  The other thing I am thinking about doing is getting a cheapish bike and going for bike rides, because I think that is something Richard and I could do together, and it would promote weight lose for both of us.  It was also give me another option to get to work during the summer as it's technically walking distance from our house to camp.

I am starting to get really excited about my parents coming to visit in 2 weeks.  My twin sister is flying down here and I will get to spend some great time with her, my parents, my niece (which asked me today for a Yo Gabba Gabba cake when she gets here, I think my sister and I have her settled on making a tie dye cake when she arrives), and hopefully my brother if he's able to make it down with my parents.  It'll be great because I haven't seen them since New Years, even if I'll see them in another month, with taking a little 3 day weekend for Easter.  That's really all I have for now, so I will update again soon.

Update on Life

So, I've realized that I am not good at keeping this website updated! I keep telling myself I need to update the blog, but I just haven't taken the time to write on here. So, after reading blogs for the past couple days I have decided it is good and time that I start updating this regularly. My goal is at least once a week, but I am hoping to post more often than that.

Richard and I have recently been trying to get a handle on things as he has been having recruiting trips and things going on as planning for the summer at Camp O is completely underway.  I am still working at the daycare in the 2 year old classroom.  I am really enjoying my job there and love each of the kids that I teach.

This past Friday, I had been sick (coughing and wheezing) for 5 days and Richard and I decided it was time to go to the Dr. and get some meds to kick this thing. I am not insured so we knew it was going to be a pretty expensive visit to the Dr. and not having a Dr. yet to go to, I talked with my boss and her husband is a Dr. at the local clinic. After going and visiting with him and they checked all my vitals and the important stuff, he decided to put me on a steroid and an antibiotic. I have 2 days left of the medicine and while the cough is much better, it still hasn't gone away.  Also while there, his nurse told me that my oxygen level was 100% and that I should never smoke, which I never plan to do.

I also got my official weight, granted it was 2:45 in the afternoon when I got weighted, but I was very disappointed in that weight.  So, I have decided it is time for me to get serious about exercising and losing those extra pounds before summer hits.  I had started working out last November, but a horse stepped on my foot, and while I did not go to the doctor, I am pretty certain it was broken.  So, that postponed my workouts and I just got lazy and never got back to it.  So, I have read a blog where the writer had really great success with the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred,

and I've told Richard I want to get it, so I am going to look tomorrow when I go to town.  I have another 60 day workout that I can get started on also, So I am going to get started with that again today, It is a 3 step process with each step lasting 20 days.  I found it on Pinterest
And here is even a "starter" for those who haven't worked out in ages.

(which Richard calls a woman's porn, not that I agree, but I see his point).  So, my goal is to try to lose at least 10 pounds before summer starts, and my final goal will be to lose between 15-20 pounds total.  I want to be back down in the low 120's before Richard and I start having children (which I hope is soon).

Other than that, things are going pretty good here for us.  I am trying to get things planned and ready to make (hopefully) a week or 2 week visit to OK when my sis has her baby, all depending on when that baby gets here.

So, as I get back into the workout routine and get things going I am going to start posting about those things.
