So, I turned 25 this last Thursday (September 15). It was a great and relaxing day for Richard and I. Richard took the day off of work so that we could hang out and relax together. I got my birthday present from him the week before my birthday. He gave me an Amazon Kindle, which I absolutely love! It's great to be able to read on there and not worry about remembering what page I was on or any of those things. On the Wednesday, Michelle and Cody Mauldin had us over for a birthday dinner. All the camp full time staff came over to enjoy steaks, corn, cheesy mashed potatoes, and a carrot cake. It was a great way to celebrate my birthday with my family down here.
On Thursday, I decided that I wanted to learn how to crochet. I've been wanting to learn something like crochet or knitting for a while, but just had never had the time to pick up something like that. So, I went into town and bought yarn and a needle, and with the help of YouTube, I learned how to do a basic stitch. I practiced it multiple times by starting completely over until I was pretty sure I understood how to do it. Then, again with the help of YouTube I decided I wanted to make a toboggan. I think that it turned out really well. I also want to add a little flower to it, but I have yet to start that part of my project. I'm really excited about the new hobby as it will be a great way to make presents for any of my nieces/nephews and any future nieces/nephews. My next project is to start a head warmer and then figure out a more "manly" toboggan for Richard. Richard also wants me to make "hobo" gloves (open finger gloves). So I have a few projects to get going but I have really enjoyed it thus far. Here are 2 pictures from my last few days of crocheting.
This first one is a wash cloth. I think that I'm going to use it as a pot holder instead, but I really think it turned out pretty decent for my first attempt.
This is the toboggan I made. I will add a flower to it, and post a picture of that when it's a done project. I will try to update as I begin more projects and ideas.
In Him,
