3 WEEKS IN...

So, we've been here for 3 weeks.  It seems like it has been so much longer than that and so much shorter than that all at the same time.  We are getting into a better routine now and that is very nice and helpful for both Richard and I.  Tonight, Richard is on "prowl" and we'll be here until midnight tonight.  I am not required to stay here until midnight, but as my fear of the dark and staying alone is as much as it is, I prefer to just wait it out here.  Plus, it gives me plenty of computer time and time to read books and make bracelets to wear.  That is one of my favorite things right now, just getting to relax and enjoy a good book and making simple little "summer bracelets".

The last two days I have been able to go to the pool after lunch and enjoy swimming, going down the 50 foot slide, and jumping off of the platform (which at my best guess is 15 feet above the water).  The full time staff's little boys have been going every day and had invited me multiple times, I just hadn't taken the time to go, and I'm very grateful to have gone the last two days.  I'm starting to get a good tan but boy am I tired! Playing in the water and keeping up with two 4 year olds and a 2 year old is rough work in the water.  They are continually wanting to swim, jump, and slide.  It makes it all the more fun to be able to enjoy the time at the pool with some pretty neat and special kiddos.

Other than that, we really haven't been doing much of anything outside of the camp.  We get here every morning around 8:45 and get home most nights ranging anywhere from 6:30-10:00. Our days and full and buys with the little tasks that each of us are responsible for.  I've been folding a lot of clothes lately, and I definitely and reminded why I didn't care so much for my retail job in college.  Although this is much different than that job, folding clothes is never a lot of fun.

Everything else is going great though and I couldn't be happier than to be exactly where I am right now and to be there with the man whom I love.

Pictures

Now that I am finally around a laptop, I figured I would update again but this time with some pictures of what we've been up to these past 2 weeks.
All of the Oklahoma Staff during the Term 2 Awards Banquet.  Nice little group of us all together.
Richard playing golf with some of the kids the first Saturday we were here.
Richard "planking" on the deck at camp.  You can see the two awesome blobs we have down at the point and immediately to the left of the picture is a 100 foot slide that is a lot of fun.
Me "planking" on some wakeboard seats. You can definitely see the top of the 100 foot slide in the top left of the picture.
Richard and Brett Lee at the "dancing through the decades" dance.

We've been having a absolute blast here at camp.  We need to get much better and actually taking pictures with both of us in them for us to be able to share with everyone.  I hope everyone is doing well and know that we miss each of you!

Today is the day...

Today is the day we become actual residents in the state of Texas. We've gotten our cars inspected and are on the way to get new drivers licenses and tags on our cars.

It has definitely been an interesting couple of days. Staying busy at work and needing to go through bags of clothes in order to know where everything is. That's a project I'm going to try and finish on Sunday when we have another day off. Everything is settling now. It's a great feeling to know that we are exactly where we are supposed to be. It's been a pleasure and joy getting to figure all of the little things out.

I feel slightly like a real adult now. I applied for health insurance. It's very hard to find something reasonable that includes maternity. That was a long process trying to figure all of that out. But, it is done and hopefully I'll hear back from them soon.

I'll update again when I have more to share.

2 weeks into the new life...

So I've not really been great at updating this blog. We've been here for two weeks now and it's been amazing. There has been a lot of working going on lately for both Richard and I but we're truly enjoying the experience. We've made list of new friends and are becoming closer to some of our old ones.

Today is the first day we've had off since we got here. So, we're having a lazy start to the day and then heading to The Woodlands to have lunch with a good friend. Getting used to the humidity has been the hardest part. Oklahoma has nothing on the humidity down here. It's only rained twice and we definitely need more rain, so we're praying for that. I don't have much to write but I will start updating this more frequently. Since I'm writing this on my phone, when I'm able to get on a laptop I'll upload some images of camps beauty for you all to enjoy!
